I am putting the finishing touches on this 16” x 20” collage: Getting Ready to Sew. It took me a couple days to figure out what to put in the middle white space. I had fun experimenting with techniques to “manufacture” a sewing form. I toyed with altering the tiles at the bottom of the canvas in some way - but in the end decided to leave them as is. I will put a few coats of varnish on this collage and wire the back. Then it will be ready for sale.

I have been playing around with some new techniques. This Moose collage is a made with hand-stamped paper and hand-drawn and -painted paper. I used pencil and acrylics to get the effects I wanted. The collage is 8” x 8” x .75”. The sides are wrapped and the back is wired, so an additional frame is optional.

This is slightly different than my usual style. Tell me what you think!

Last week I asked for helping naming this girl holding a lobster. I loved all of the names from Danya to Penelope to Molly. I decided on “Isabelle” with the nickname “Izzy”. Thanks to everyone who offered their suggestions.

Isabelle is made using hand-stamped and altered paper with acrylics and ink. I cut and pasted the pieces onto an 8” x 10” x .75” canvas. The sides are wrapped and the back is wired, so an additional frame is optional. Isabelle is listed in my shop here.

I’ve also listed Isabelle in my Pixels shop. She is available there as greeting cards, prints, mugs, t-shirts and more. This is a print-on-demand shop. You order will be filled directly from Pixels.

I put the final touches on this little darling this morning. She needs a name, though. I am open to suggestions. She’s made using hand-stamped and altered paper with acrylics and ink on an 8” x 10” x .75” canvas. Once I finish a few coats of varnish and wire the back, she’ll be ready to put in my shop. I need to get some pictures of her as well, but the wind chill is -15 F at the moment. Pictures will have to wait for another day.

Her friend (below) is available as a greeting card.

Every once in a while, an animal shows up in my work. They’re usually creatures I see on my walks in Maine. This moose decided to hang out for a little bit. He’s made using pencil, cut paper, and watercolor on mixed media paper. Below is a greeting card of my collage “Moose and Three Sparrows”. I made that collage after encountering a moose while riding my bike in the early morning.

Quick Video of my Newest Collage

Here’s a quick video of my newest collage. It’s layered paper collage on 16” x 20” canvas. I still need to give it a few coats of varnish and wire the back. Then, it will be ready to go in my shop.

Not enough space for collage wall art? Consider small format collage art instead.

Cityscape Collage Update

Here’s a quick update on my Cityscape collage. I’ve added some people and a few details on the buildings. It’s creeping along. I’ve been sidetracked by other projects. I also broke my hole punch, so populating my city will have to wait until I get a replacement.

It’s beautifully sunny out today, but cold. Makes me think how much I miss the poking around my garden.
