I have been playing around with houses in my art journal. This is part of a year-long class I am taking with Carla Sonheim (2019 Year of the Collage - how could I resist?). This piece is a combination of altered photos I took, hand-stamped paper, and cut out magazine pages.

Part of the assignment is to use as few elements as possible to get the idea across. I am fighting my impulse to add, add, add.

While I always enjoy Carla’s assignments, this one has resonated in ways I am still trying to figure out. I definitely plan to explore this theme further.
