Sunday Inspiration: Images from My Back Yard

This week, my "back yard" is Mt. Kineo, which I hiked on Saturday. Gorgeous day. Practically no clouds and enough wind to keep the bugs off. I am a little scared of heights, but I'm telling you, it was well worth the climb to the top of the tower to get a 360 degree view of the lake and mountain region of Maine.

Mt. Kineo is located in Moosehead Lake, near Greenville, Maine. It's a ten-minute boat ride and about a 45-60 minute hike up a fairly steep section to get the the top. They recommend going down the Bridle Trail, which is supposed to be less steep, but it was too good a day not to keep walking past the tower, down the other side of the mountain (steep in places!) to the carriage trail that led back to the dock.

On days like this, I am reminded how fortunate I am to have places like this in my "back yard" to fill my soul and inspire my artwork.
