Inspiration Sunday - Images from My Back Yard

Lavender. Herbs are some of the plants deer hate to eat, so I have lots of herbs in my yard. I love when the lavender blooms.

For a few years, every time I took a walk, I grabbed my camera. It's an amazing way to get to know the neighborhood. Because I was looking, I saw my neighborhood in a whole new way. I got out of the habit - it's too easy to take pictures with my phone - but I'm bringing back the ritual. I've missed seeing the changes as the seasons come and go.

Ferns. One of my all-time favorite plants. Don't know why. Just love them.

You'll see lots of ferns showing up in my collages. I'm fascinated by them for some reason. I love how they fill in the shady spots in the forest and come in so many varieties. Can't get enough of them!

 Forest paths are always beautiful.

Walking a forest path never gets old. This photograph is from a campground my partner and I visited in southern Maine. For me, it brings back the sights, sounds, and smells of an early morning walk through the woods. There's a mystery to forest paths...what will there be around the next little rise or bend?...plenty here for inspiration.
