Small Art for the Show This Weekend
I am just about packed for the show this weekend. It is the Fine Arts and Crafts Show at the Memorial Middle School Gymnasium in South Portland. to benefit the Locker Project. The show runs from 9am to 4pm both days.
Please note, I am taking many of my 16" x 20" and smaller collages to the Benefit show this weekend. Purchases of those size collages on this website are subject to availability until after the show. I will update my SHOP by Monday, November 20, 2017.
Not wanting start a big project at the moment, I've been working on some small art: "inchie" poetry magnets. One one side, they've got a scene with a forest, moon and mountains. On the other, a poem. Yup! You can fit poetry on an inch!
I have picked poets whose poetry is in the public domain: Edna St. Vincent Millay, Mark Twain, Gordon Bottomley, Carl Sandburg, Hazel Hall, and Alfred Kreymborg. It would be great to have some other Maine poets (besides Edna St. Vincent Millay), so if you know of a poet or poets who would allow me to use their poem on these "inchies," please let me know. I am looking for nature or season-based, mostly upbeat, secular poetry that can be readable shrunk down to an inch.
