Composite Sketches

Composite Sketch #2.jpg

As I get back into the swing of things after a couple weeks of computer glitches and visiting with family and friends, I've sketched some composite portraits (kind of Picasso style).

The idea was not to worry about proportion or detail, but take bits and pieces (face, hands, hair, mouth, nose) from different people and put them in one portrait.

I find it fun to mix and match. It's a great way to practice sketching and get a new perspective. Plus, since I'm not a portrait artist, it takes the pressure of trying to make realistic faces. I can see some of these making their way into my collage work at some point.
