Quilted Lobster 24" x 30" Layered Paper, Mixed Media Collage

Quilted Lobster, Layered Paper Collage.jpg

Here is my latest collage: Quilted Lobster. It is based on the quilted fabric lobsters I used to make. I also added elements that remind me of my dad (the train and the fly fishing "bugs"), my mom (the sewing machine), and my grandmother and aunts (the Queen Anne's Lace). I loved playing around with surrealist elements as well and will continue exploring this theme.

Quilted Lobster is a layered paper, mixed media collage using hand-stamped paper, acrylics, marker, embroidery floss, and thread. I make my own stamps. The collage is 24 in x 30 in x 3/4 in (61 cm x 76 cm x 1.9 cm). The sides are wrapped and the back will be wired, so no frame is necessary. I still have to add a couple coats of varnish before it is ready for sale in my shop.

How will you add creativity into your life this week?
