Work in Progress: Garden collage
I may--or may not--have this Garden collage finished by the Greater Gardiner River Festival this coming Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 10 am to 4 pm. The closer I get to finishing the collage, the slower the work seems to be going.
This Garden collage is more intricate than I had originally intended, with chives, queen anne's lace, peony, geranium, a bunch of small white and pink flowers, ants, and birds all made from hand-stamped and altered paper, hand-cut and adhered to the canvas. I have added some painted details on the queen anne's lace and the QAL leaves were punched from a stamp. Everything else was either cut or torn in individual pieces.
I have a few more details to add, then this Garden collage will get a few coats of varnish to protect the surface. The sides are wrapped and the finished piece will be wired on the back, so no frame is necessary. Fingers crossed, it will be ready for a new home by Saturday. I'll keep you posted!
