I found out yesterday afternoon that one of my collages, Girl Holding a Lobster, was accepted into the Bangor Art Society's Show at the Discovery Museum. The show runs from May 2 to June 3, 2016. The reception and award presentations will be on May 3, 2015 from 5pm to 7pm.
If you are in the area, I hope you will stop by to see the show. Artwork displayed includes samples in these five catetories: oils/acrylics, drawing (pastels, pencil, charcoal), watercolor, photography, and all other (glass, mixed media, sculpture, wood/silk screen/etching prints).
Girl Holding a Lobster is a layered paper collage using assorted hand-stamped papers (from my own, hand-cut stamps), acrylics, and embroidery floss mounted on a 20 in x 24 in x 3/4 in (51 cm x 61 cm x 1.9 cm) canvas. The sides are wrapped and the back wired, so no frame is necessary. This piece is available for sale at the show.
